The Verseo Corporation believes the soles of your feet are major toxin and heavy metal storage areas. Verseo states that because these toxins and heavy metals exist in both the environment and in food sources, you cannot prevent them from entering your body and settling in vital organs such as your stomach, liver and colon. Once there, gravity and your immune system move these substances from body organs to your feet. Verseo claims their detox foot patch is a way to remove these toxins and cleanse your body.

Theory

The Verseo detox foot patch follows the principles of an ancient Chinese medicine called reflexology. Traditional reflexology, says the University of Minnesota Center for Spirituality and Healing, employs the art of pressure massage to points on your feet, hands and ears that correspond to internal body organs. Applying this pressure affects the intended body organ and improves health and well-being. Although reflexology is not a cure for any health condition, many use it in combination with traditional medicine to treat conditions such as anxiety, asthma, heart problems and diabetes. According to Verseo, there are more than 60 points on your foot that correspond to internal body organs and ingredients in their detox foot patch work to draw out these toxins.

Ingredients

Ingredients in each detox foot patch include dextrin, eucalyptus, globules wood vinegar, agaricus mushroom, peppermint, tourmaline and silicone dimethicone silyate. Of these, Verseo identifies tourmaline and globules wood vinegar as the ingredients that provide the greatest benefits. According to Verseo, the mineral tourmaline has the ability to generate negative ions that work to improve blood flow, soothe and relax your body and globules wood vinegar, an ancient Chinese essence, works to draw toxins from your feet.

Process

Verseo recommends that you start out the first night using three patches on each foot, placing one on your toes, one the arch of your foot and one on your heel. On subsequent nights, you can continue using three patches or focus on the area producing the greatest toxin withdrawal before moving on to another area.

Time Frame

The time frame for treatment depends on your area of focus and the degree of toxin buildup. Treatment of a single area, says Verseo, can anywhere from a few days to 30 days or more. After you complete treatment on all focus areas, Verseo recommends that you follow a maintenance program according to a schedule you choose to prevent toxin buildup from recurring.

Effects

Using the Verseo detox foot patch has the potential, according to the company, to relieve pain from conditions such as arthritis or headaches, improve blood circulation and energy levels. Additional effects the company attributes to the foot patch include reduce stress levels and improvement in mental focus and concentration.

Warning

There is no scientific evidence to prove detox foot patches are effective, according to MayoClinic.com. According to Dr. Stephen Barrett on the Device Watch website, detox foot pads don't turn dark from drawing out toxins, but from chemicals in the pad that react to moisture.
