Specifications of the Reebok 8600 ES Treadmill

The sturdy Reebok 8600 ES, with its 2.5-horsepower motor and a maximum speed of 12 mph, is built for running workouts. The 20-inch by 55-inch cushioned running belt is large enough for most users, although if you're tall you might feel cramped at a run. The 8600 ES also adjusts between 0 percent and 12 percent incline settings for more workout variety. As of December 2010, this treadmill retails for about $900 to $1,100.

Programs

You can control the Reebok 8600's speed and incline manually or choose one of 10 preprogrammed cardio workouts to adjust speed and incline for you. Press "Programs" until the display shows your desired program, then press "Start." The treadmill also offers two pulse control programs, both for use with a wireless chest strap heart rate monitor. Press "Programs" to select either Pulse Program 1 or Pulse Program 2, then adjust the maximum target heart rate setting as necessary with the increase and decrease buttons. Press "Start" when you're ready to begin.

Features

Notable features on the Reebok 8600 ES include built-in speakers with an MP3-player compatible audio-in jack, an optional wireless chest strap heart rate monitor, and an in-console cooling fan. It also has two workout programs you can customize yourself. Press "Programs" repeatedly until you've selected one of the two Record programs. Press "Start," then work out as if you were in manual mode. Press "Stop" twice when you're done. This saves the workout you just did into memory, and you can replay it at your leisure.

iFit

The Reebok 8600 is also iFit compatible, a feature common to all audio equipment manufactured by ICON Health & Fitness, the Reebok parent company. You can purchase iFit memory cards, which insert into a small slot in the console. Each card contains multiple preprogrammed workouts. The treadmill doesn't just adjust speed and incline automatically, you'll also hear the personal trainer's voice guiding you through the workout.

Size and Capacity

The Reebok 8600 ES's maximum user weight capacity is 325 lbs. It measures 72 inches high by 36.5 inches wide by 60.5 inches long. The treadmill deck folds vertically against the console supports when not in use; you must be able to lift 45 lbs. in order to safely raise the deck into the folded position. The deck latches in place, and once folded you can tilt the treadmill onto two frame-mounted wheels for easy transport.
