Miracle Burn is a weight loss supplement that is made with a South African herb called hoodia, plus a metabolic boosting supplement called Advantra Z. Hoodia provides appetite suppression to promote weight loss. Advantra Z is a component of Miracle Burn that stimulates your metabolism, similar to ephedera without the negative side effects to your heart.

Appetite Suppression

Miracle Burn contains two appetite suppressants for weight loss promotion. Hoodia and glucomannan are the two active ingredients to suppress your hunger. According to the Miracle Burn website, P57 is the active ingredient of hoodia that promotes the feeling of fullness. The ability of hoodia to signal fullness tells your brain to stop eating, which results in you consuming fewer calories. Glucomannan is the other appetite suppressant that is classified as a fiber and found in many commonly eaten carbohydrates, according to Drugs Online. The primary effect of glucomannan is its ability to swell when combined with water or other low-calorie liquids. This produces a filling sensation in Miracle Burn users, causing users feel full longer when using the over-the-counter supplement.

Metabolism Boost

Synephrine and bitter orange are the components of the Advantra Z portion of Miracle Burn. Advantra Z promotes higher energy levels and increases your metabolic rate by stimulating your nervous system. This causes you to tap into your fat stores to provide fuel for your daily activities and exercise. Synephrine is supposed to be safer than ephedera because the potential heart issues aren't experienced by users of the supplement.

Expert Insight

The website Diet Awareness reviews common over-the-counter supplements and states the makers of Miracle Burn don't list the amounts of the primary ingredients or provide clinical data to back up the weight loss claims. The site is filled with testimonials about the product. Most of the information used to promote the supplement hasn't been backed by rigorous or credible scientific testing.

Pros/Cons

The official site for Miracle Burn provides information about the supplement. You can review all the active ingredients and learn more about their role in helping you lose weight. The information on the website regarding efficacy of the supplement is lacking, as no clinical studies are provided. The site just claims that studies or research has occured, but no official references are provided. Testimonials are provided, but you aren't able to determine if these are actual users. The site does provide a disclaimer that the testimonials are provided by users that achieved non-typical results.

Costs

Miracle Burn should be taken twice a day, once upon waking before breakfast and the second dose before your mid-day meal or lunch. One box contains a 1-month supply, priced at $44.99 per box in 2010. You'll get price reductions when you buy more than 1 month's supply at a time. You can receive up to $55 in savings when purchasing a 4-month supply of the supplement.

Other Ingredients

Miracle Burn contains other supplements that claim to produce weight loss, regulate blood glucose levels, promote fat usage and increase energy levels. Chromium, L-carnitine, yerba mate and white willow bark are other ingredients in the Miracle Burn formula. Most of the items are generally recognized as safe to use, but the effectiveness of these ingredients hasn't been clinically proven to back up claims of the supplements. The Miracle Burn website doesn't provide any clinical data to prove the active and support ingredients are useful in promoting weight loss.
