A Pro-Form 320X treadmill is designed for at-home use. To safely operate the treadmill, place it on a flat surface with the edge of the belt approximately 6 to 8 feet away from the walls. The 320X treadmill comes with a weight restriction, which also keeps you safe and extends the life of your equipment.

Pro-Form

Pro-Form is a company that specializes in exercise equipment. The 320X is a basic treadmill that lets you increase your speed and incline for a variety of walking and running workouts. While you exercise, you can monitor your heart rate with the console pulse sensor to keep you within your target heart rate range. Another safety feature is the attached safety key that prevents the treadmill from operating if you stop suddenly or fall. At the end of your workout, you can fold up the 320X for easy storage.

Top Out

The Pro-Form 320X treadmill has a maximum weight capacity of 250 pounds. This restriction protects the motor, the belt and you. If your weight is within the recommended limits, the treadmill should be able to maintain any selected speed at any elevation. If you weigh more than 250 pounds and use the 320X, you may experience a belt that is slow, hesitates or stops. The maximum user weight correlates with the motor's horse power.

Rule Breaker

If you weigh more than 250 pounds, break the rules and operate the Pro-Form 320X, you risk personal injuries and equipment breakage. The belt may stop suddenly and you could slip or fall. If the belt hesitates, the inconsistent pace may cause a muscle strain. If the belt slows or drags, you risk damaging the motor and the deck. The belt has a lubricant that keeps is operating smoothly, but excessive weight may cause it to drag across and scratch the platform.

Wiggle Room

Most treadmills for home use support exercisers who weigh between 250 and 400 pounds. The Pro-Form 320X fits into this general range. However, for safe operation, consider using a treadmill that has a weight limit of 50 pounds more than your weight. For example, use the Pro-Form 320X if you weigh a maximum of 200 pounds. The weight limits are for one user. You should never operate a treadmill with two people.
