The basics of weight loss require you to create a calorie deficit, a process that takes a great deal of effort and restraint. Skimming 3,5000 calories from your diet results in a loss of only 1 pound. You might be able to speed up the process with certain diets, exercise techniques and supplements. Visually trimming your waist with the right outfit and support garments also helps.

Diets

With so many diets and quick-fix weight loss plans available, it can be difficult to choose the right one. Narrowing the search helps eliminate diets that aren't right for you. Consider your lifestyle, food preferences and budget when choosing a plan. Examples of diets they might help you shed weight quickly are the cabbage soup diet, low-carbohydrate plans and liquid diets. These diets might yield success in the beginning, but they are unlikely to be sustainable; you probably will gain back the weight you lose. Limiting starches and salt is key to reducing fluid retention, no matter which diet you follow.

Supplements/ Teas

Diet supplements can give dieters an extra boost by providing diuretics to help shed water weight and stimulants to increase energy. Some herbal weight-loss teas contain senna, a natural laxative that has been used medicinally for centuries, according to Drugs.com. However, many teas and supplements are not proven safe, and some are downright dangerous, according to MayoClinic.com. Talk to your doctor before using any diet aides.

Exercise

Exercises that focus on flattening the tummy and slimming the midsection are among the best ways to decrease the waistline, though the process can be grueling. "Men's Fitness" recommends cardio exercises five to seven times weekly for fast waist weight loss. Simple crunches and plank exercises are effective for trimming your midsection.

Equipment

Waist- slimming equipment such as sauna belts promote fluid loss from the midsection by causing the body to shed water through sweat. However, they don't result in long-term fat loss, some are bulky and uncomfortable, and they can be costly.
