Weider 4850 Specs

The Weider 4850 is a total-body home gym. It features nine exercise stations that provide a full-body workout. You will need a large, open space in your home for this gym. The unit is divided into four separate areas. One area is left open so you can push the gym back against a wall.

Size

The Weider 4850 weighs 250 lbs. It is 82 inches high, 105 inches wide and 94 inches deep. To fit this unit in your home, you need an open floor space at least 9 feet by 8 feet. Ideally, the area should be a couple feet longer on each side, because you will need to step away from the machine a foot or so to perform some exercises, such as those on the low pulley station. The Weider 4850 accommodates users up to 300 lbs.

Stations

The lower body stations include a low pulley, leg extension and leg press station. The upper body stations include a dip assist, pull-up bars, high pulley, butterfly arms, ab pulley and press arms. All the stations are designed for a specific exercise except the high and low pulley. You can do a variety of exercises on the pulley stations using the attachments that come with the gym.

Resistance

The Weider 4850 has two weight stacks. Together, the weight stacks contain 237 lbs. of plates. However, the 4850 provides up to 327 lbs. of resistance on certain stations. The user's manual explains that the cables and pulleys change the actual resistance of an exercise. The manual includes a weight resistance chart. Refer to the chart to calculate the exact weight you are using on any given exercise. For example, the third weight plate is equal to 60 lbs. on the high pulley but 77 lbs. on the leg extension.

Accessories

The Weider 4850 home gym comes with several attachments you can use on the high, low and ab pulleys. Use a handle or long lat bar for upper body exercises, or the ankle strap for lower body exercises. A chain is included. Attach the chain between the pulley and the attachment. This gives you more distance from the pulley, making it easier to do some exercises.
