Wrinkles are a natural part of growing older. Your skin becomes thinner and less elastic with age, increasing its susceptibility to damage. Sun exposure, smoking and genetics also can cause you to develop wrinkles. While skin wrinkling cannot be fully reversed, home remedies may reduce the appearance of wrinkles and fine lines.
Egg Whites
Egg whites contain B vitamins, vitamin E and other nutrients that protect and replenish the skin. Beat several egg whites in a small bowl and apply the mixture to your skin. Concentrate on the skin under your eyes, which is thinner and readily absorbs nutrients. Let the egg whites sit for 15 to 20 minutes before washing them away with warm water.
Vitamin E
Vitamin E acts as an antioxidant to remove free radicals from your skin, repairing its even tone. The Beauty Cosmetic Guide suggests adding the contents of three vitamin E capsules to 2 tablespoons plain yogurt. Add a small amount of honey and lemon juice to the mixture. Use a cotton ball to apply the cream to your face, rinsing after 10 minutes.
Castor Oil
Castor oil easily penetrates your skin, smoothing and moisturizing the tissue. Apply a small amount of odor-free castor oil to your face nightly before bed. Adding a small amount of lemon juice to the oil boosts its vitamin C concentration, further repairing skin damage.
Moisturizer
Create a homemade deep moisturizer by combining fresh cream, one avocado, flaxseed oil and honey. The omega-3 fatty acids in flaxseeds purportedly slow aging and decrease wrinkling. Apply the cream and wait one hour before washing your face with cold water. Reapply several times a week for the best anti-wrinkling effects.
Diet
Diet can play a role in improving skin and preventing wrinkles, according to the American Academy of Dermatology. The group recommends a healthy diet that includes foods containing vitamin D to help protect your skin from the effects of the sun, including wrinkling. Also, boost your consumption of fruits and vegetables to at least three servings of each per day. Fresh fruits and vegetables contain antioxidants, B vitamins and vitamins A, C, D and E., all of which improve skin quality. Drink plenty of water to moisturize your skin as well.
