Myoplex is a line of supplements manufactured by Abbot Laboratories and is recommended for weight loss, increase muscle mass and improve endurance. Powder shakes, beverages, and snack bars are available in several products such as Myoplex Original, Myoplex Deluxe, Myoplex Carb Control, Myoplex Strength and Myoplex Lite. While Myoplex products are based on proteins, also carbohydrates, fats, vitamins minerals, food flavors and additives are included in Myoplex. Proteins

Depending on the formula, Myoplex include proteins derived from milk such as milk protein concentrate, calcium caseinate and whey protein isolate as well as egg albumin and the amino-acids taurine and L-glutamine.
When protein is consumed, the body breaks it down into amino acids, which are the building blocks of all proteins. Proteins are essential components of the muscles and are also involved in the building, repairing and growth of muscle tissues.

According to EmedTv.com, Myoplex Original products contain 42 g of proteins per serving, Myoplex Deluxe products contain 30 g per serving, Myoplex Carb Control include 25 g of protein per serving and Myoplex Lite contains between 15 and 20 g of proteins per serving.

Carbohydrates

Corn maltodextrin , cacao powder and cotton-seed fibers are sources of complex carbohydrates in Myoplex products. Simple carbohydrates in the form of artificial sweeteners such as sucralose and acesulfame potassium are also part of these supplements.

Carbohydrates are an essential source of energy during physical exercise and they also help in building and maintaining muscles.

Fats

Myoplex supplements contain fats such as high oleic safflower oil. Depending on the product, the amount of fats per serving is between 0.5 and 7 g. The amount of cholesterol also varies with the product, from less that 5 mg to 50 mg per serving.

Food Flavors and Preservatives

Natural and artificial flavors as well as food additives such as sodium hexametaphosphate and carrageenan are also ingredients in Myoplex supplements.
