These vitamins all have individual purposes, but they also all work to promote the essential building blocks that are necessary for growth and development. Vitamins B1, B2, B3 and B5 work to convert food into blood sugar, or glucose, and then convert the glucose into energy, often called fuel. You can take this supplement as directed by the brand. Most B-complex vitamins are also found in fortified cereals, grains and legumes.
Chromium
Chromium helps to free energy from glucose, according to Harvard Medical School. Chromium is a mineral that is need for B-vitamins to be utilized correctly. Chromium is also used to maintain stable blood sugar levels, so without it you may feel weak, tired or jittery. You can take chromium as part of a complete mineral supplement or consume it from chromium-rich foods such as brewer's yeast, nuts and cheese. You need to also take vitamin C to absorb chromium.
