Moderate Housework

This includes activities such as bathing a pet, walking behind a snow blower, mopping, painting and raking/bagging leaves or grass. A person weighing 155 lb. will burn between 240 and 300 calories per hour while someone weighing 205 lb. will burn between 325 and 400 calories per hour.

Vigorous Housework

This includes activities such as shoveling snow, cleaning gutters, weeding and push-mowing a lawn. A person weighing 155 lb. will burn between 280 and 420 calories per hour, while someone weighing 205 lb. will burn between 370 and 560 calories per hour.
