Avalon Organics Vitamin C skincare line is designed to protect the skin from sun exposure. The skincare line contains nine different products, including Hydrating Cleansing Milk, Refreshing Cleansing Gel, Balancing Facial Toner, Rejuvenating Oil-Free Moisturizer, Renewal Facial Cream, Moisture Plus Lotion, Vitality Facial Serum, Revitalizing Eye Cream and Soothing Lip Balm. The Vitamin C line does not contain any parabens, artificial colors, mineral oil, petroleum products or fragrances that could be potential irritants to the skin. The products share similar ingredients with some variation depending on the product type.

Herbs and Plant-Based Ingredients

Avalon Organics Vitamin C skincare line includes several herbs that have skin cleansing and protective qualities. All of the herbs used are organic and include lavender, chamomile, white tea, arnica montana, aloe barbadensis and kelp extract. Arnica is an herb that when used topically reduces inflammation, is soothing to the skin and can help heal wounds. Echinacea and ginkgo are also included in some products. Other plant-based ingredients that are included in some of the Vitamin C products are cucumber, green tea, calendula, corn starch and soy.

Oils

Essential oils and other vegetable and plant oils are used in Avalon Organics Vitamin C products. The oils used include sunflower, borage, flaxseed, orange, castor, rose hip and coconut. Organic coconut oil is a good skin moisturizer because it is easily absorbed and does not clog the pores like petroleum products or mineral oil. Flaxseed oil contains omega-3 fatty acids that can be absorbed into the skin, providing moisture and helping to treat fine lines and wrinkles.

Vitamins

Vitamins included in Avalon Organics Vitamin C products include vitamin E, vitamin B5 and of course, vitamin C. Vitamin C has been shown to be beneficial when used topically on the skin to promote skin health by fighting against antioxidants that damage cells and lead to skin cancer. Science Daily explains that a study performed in Portugal found that vitamin C may aid in wound healing and also help heal sun damage.

Other Ingredients

The Vitamin C line contains several other ingredients to support their shelf life. These include vegetable glycerin, emulsifying wax, cetearyl alcohol, tromethamine stearate, dimethicone and benzyl alcohol.
