The XR 45 is a home fitness system by Gold's Gym. As of December 2010, it sells for about $260. The gym has six stations offering over 50 different exercises. A high cable, low cable, leg developer, chest press, rolled preacher pad and a fly station all fit within a 6-by-3 feet footprint. The 81-lb. weight stack provides up to 210 lbs. of resistance due to the pulley system. An ankle strap, curl bar and lat bar are included.
Step 1
Insert the weight pin under the chosen weight plate. Situate the pin so the end points toward the floor. Push it all the way in until the bent end makes contact with the weight stack.
Step 2
Use the Gold's Gym weight chart in the user's manual to figure the actual resistance. Look up the selected weight plate in the left column. Follow this row to the right until you find the exercise station. The number listed is the actual resistance in pounds, for that weight plate at that exercise station.
Step 3
Attach the lat bar or ankle strap to one of the pulley stations. Push and hold the locking mechanism on the weight clip to open it. Slip the hole on the accessory over the clip. Slide the clip into the eye bolt on the end of the pulley cable. Release the locking mechanism.
Step 4
Insert the arm pins into the holes on the upright to use the butterfly arms. Insert the arm pins into the holes on the pivot frame to use the arm assembly as a chest press.
Step 5
Slide the leg pin into the hole in the leg lever and lock plate. This locks the leg lever in place, allowing you to use the low pulley station. Remove the pin to use the leg developer station.
Step 6
Insert the lock pin into the weight plate guide rail to lock the weight stack. Secure the lock onto the lock pin to hold it in place.
