Portion Control

Another easy and natural weight loss secret is to watch how much food you put into your mouth at meal time. If you start your weight loss by reducing the amount of food on your plate by 10 percent, you can lose an average of 20 pounds per year, or just over 1.6 pounds per month. Slowly reducing your portions even more will result in a greater weight loss.

Exercise Regularly

Starting with a small increase in activity level by taking brisk walks and doing house cleaning and yard work with more intensity is a good way to begin an exercise plan. Increasing your physical activity to include moderate exercise such as bike riding, jogging, swimming or aerobics can help you burn more calories and lose more weight. The Mayo Clinic suggests getting 30 to 60 minutes of exercise at least three times per week. Talk to your physician before beginning any exercise regimen. Stick to Menu

If you stick to a menu of low-fat meals and snacks, you will be more likely to eat more healthy. When planning out your meals for the day or week, include fruits and vegetables and lean meats. Reduce the amount of fat that you are getting and look for low-calorie foods as well.
