Sold as the “P90X Peak Health Formula,” the P90X multivitamins claim to “ensure your body gets the vital nutrients you need to perform at your best and get the most out of your fitness program,” according to the BeachBody website. The six-capsule daily dosage provides more than 100 percent of your recommended daily value of vitamins A, B6, B12, C, D and E, thiamin, riboflavin, niacin, folic acid, biotin, pantothenic acid, zinc, selenium, copper, manganese and chromium. Since all multivitamin supplements contain different ingredients, there is no exact substitute for the P90X multivitamin. However, there are several multivitamin options that can serve as a decent alterative to the P90X formula.
When using the Animal Pak supplements, you should consume two packs per day as a substitute for the P90X multivitamin. The Animal Pak website recommends a daily two-pack dose during intense training. Since its release in 1983, Animal Pak considers itself “the cast iron skillet of your supplement program, your body’s first line of defense,” according to the website. When compared to the P90X multivitamin, Animal Pak has roughly the same amount of vitamin A, vitamin D, vitamin E, thiamin, niacin, iodine, magnesium and zinc. The Animal Pak daily dosage provides significantly more vitamin C, riboflavin, calcium and selenium, while the P90X multivitamin daily dosage provides significantly more folic acid, vitamin B12 and magnesium.
The “Essentials” multivitamin pack offered by USANA Health Sciences can serve as a close substitute to the P90X multivitamin packs. Unlike the P90X package, the Essentials package includes two separate bottles. One bottle contains the “mega antioxidant” and the other bottle contains the “chelated mineral.” The instructions recommend taking two tablets from each bottle per day. When compared to the daily dosage of the P90X vitamins, the Essentials “mega antioxidant” provides roughly the same amount of vitamin C, vitamin D, vitamin E, riboflavin, vitamin B6, and pantothenic acid. However, the P90X formula provides significantly more vitamin A, thiamin, niacin, vitamin B12 and biotin. When compared to the P90X formula, the “chelated mineral” provides roughly the same amount of iodine, zinc, selenium, copper and boron. However, the P90X formula provides significantly more calcium and magnesium.
GNC Mega Men
Although the GNC Mega Men formula recommends taking two caplets per day, you will need to double this amount to properly substitute it for the P90X formula. In fact, two caplets of the GNC Mega Men multivitamin provides just around half of the vitamin A, vitamin C, niacin, folic acid, thiamin, calcium and chromium. However, even taking four tablets per day, the GNC formula still provides significantly less vitamin D, vitamin E, vitamin B12, biotin and magnesium. On the other hand, the GNC formula provides significantly more riboflavin and vitamin B6. Both supplements also contain green tea leaf extract, alpha lipoic acid, boron and amino acids.
