After your pregnancy, you may be anxious to get your body back to the weight it was before you got pregnant. The key to losing weight is burning more calories than you consume in a day, a process that involves modifying what you eat and increasing your physical activity.

Focus on eating a healthy and varied diet after your pregnancy. Eat fruits, vegetables and whole grains, because they contain fiber that will help you feel full for longer periods of time. Choose low-fat dairy and lean cuts of meat instead of full-fat dairy and meat products, and limit your intake of fats and sugary foods.

Smart Choices

To consume fewer calories after pregnancy, surround yourself with healthy choices so you are less likely to be tempted by unhealthy foods. Keep in mind that there is no secret for losing weight after pregnancy, and not every diet plan works for everyone. Losing weight takes commitment. It may take six months or longer to return to your prepregnancy weight.
