A sagging chin typically develops with old age. You can also get a sagging chin due to extensive weight loss, however excess skin on the chin does not have to be permanent. If you want a quick fix there are a number of surgical procedures available. If you are afraid of going under the knife or simply do not have the cash to spare, you can perform exercises to lose your sagging chin.

Step 1

Visit a plastic surgeon to discuss the options available to you for surgery. A neck lift typically involves having an endoscopic procedure, which involves a surgeon using a small camera to guide him or her through the procedure. The advantage of this method is that there is minimal scarring because the incision is small, and the recovery time is short.

Step 2

Talk about the option of liposuction. Liposuction is used to remove large amounts of fat. A tube is inserted and the fat is sucked out. Recovery time can be as long as 10 days and a bandage must be worn for the duration. You will also need to take medication to reduce the swelling and risk of infection.

Step 3

Perform neck and throat jowl exercises. Sit or stand in an upright position and tilt your head in an upwards direction towards the ceiling. Keep your lips shut and perform a chewing motion. Repeat this 20 times and you will feel your muscles working.

Step 4

Sit straight and position your head so that it is facing the ceiling. Shape your lips as if you were about to kiss someone, and then stretch them upwards as if you were attempting to kiss the ceiling. Hold the position for five seconds and then return to the start position. Repeat the routine five times.

Step 5

Sit with your back straight and position your head backwards so that you are looking directly at the ceiling. Place your bottom lip over your top lip as far as it will go and count to five seconds. Return your head to the start position and count, repeat 10 times.

Step 6

Sit or stand in an upright position and gently drop your head in a forward direction. The muscles in your neck will start to stretch as the weight of your head causes a pulling sensation. Hold the position for five seconds and then return to the starting position repeat and five times.
