Despite its name, buckwheat is actually not a kind of wheat. It is a grain that has caught a lot of attention for its taste and nutritional value. The benefits of consuming buckwheat noodles are far greater than those of traditional noodles.

History

This gluten-free food is considered a probiotic in that it stimulates the existence of healthy bacteria in the intestines, therefore reducing the amount of harmful bacteria in the digestive tract, according to Masterjules.com. Research also shows that buckwheat may lower blood glucose, and because of its probiotic qualities, this food helps aid in healthy digestion and increases immunity.

Soba

Soba noodles, an Asian food, are made from buckwheat. This filling food can be found at many restaurants that serve Japanese dishes as well as at many grocery stores. Although soba noodles have existed for centuries, this dish has only recently gained the public's attention. The rising popularity of soba noodles is due to a combination of its nutritional value, taste, availability and low cost.
