Nutrition Information for Powerade Ion4

Powerade Ion4 is a sports beverage that launched in the United States in 2009. This product is advertised to be the only nationally available sports drink that helps the body replenish the four electrolytes that are commonly lost through sweat. Although the drink comes in a variety of flavors and sizes, the nutrition facts for this beverage remain the same regardless of the flavor or packaging.

Types

Powerade Ion4 comes in a variety of flavors, including White Cherry, Strawberry Lemonade, Grape, Sour Melon, Lemon Lime, Orange and Mountain Berry Blast. Each flavor contains its own specific flavor and coloring ingredients, but the nutrition facts for Powerade Ion4 beverages are the same regardless of the flavor.

Serving Size

Powerade Ion4 also is available in many different sized bottles. Some flavors, such as the Fruit Punch, are available in a 12 oz. bottle, 20 oz. bottle, 32 oz. bottle or as a powder. Other flavors are only available in one particular size. Regardless of the flavor or size of the bottle, the recommended serving size is 8 oz. Adjust the nutrition fact amounts accordingly if you consume the entire bottle instead of the recommended 8 oz. serving size.

Nutrition Facts

Powerade Ion4 contains 50 calories per each 8 oz. serving. This beverage does not contain any fat or protein. It contains 14 g of total carbohydrate, which all come from sugars. Powerade Ion4 provides 5 percent of your daily value of sugar per serving, based on a 2,000-calorie diet.

Vitamins And Minerals

A serving of Powerade Ion4 will provide you with 10 percent of the recommended daily value of vitamin B6, vitamin B12 and vitamin B3. It also provides a few minerals, including 25 mg of potassium, 100 mg of sodium and trace amounts of magnesium. It is not a significant source of calcium, iron, vitamin A, vitamin C or any other nutrients.

Boost

A product called the Ion4 Boost is available as a supplement to this beverage. The Ion4 Boost is advertised to give extra potassium, gluclose, sodium and calcium. Mixing the Ion4 Boost powder with the regular Powerade Ion4 beverage alters the nutrition facts significantly. The powder adds an addition 25 calories, 24 mg of calcium, 540 mg of potassium, 1,000 mg of sodium, 6 g of gluclose and 12 mg of magnesium per serving.
