Many people, kids and adults, love trampolines because it is much easier to perform flip tricks than on solid ground. It is also safer for gymnasts to execute flip tricks on the trampoline before attempting to do them on a solid surface. Whether you are a professional or simply want to have fun learning new trampoline maneuvers, it is easy to learn basic trampoline flip tricks.

Spinning

Spinning is a basic trampoline skill that is beneficial to those who are nervous about doing flips. A 360 spin is a spin that is done aerially, but with feel parallel to the trampoline. For a 360 spin, you don't have to turn upside down. Try executing full spins on the trampoline, then progress to 540 spins. This is a full turn and a half. Once you are comfortable spinning in the air, you may graduate to more complex tricks like flips.

Basic Front Flip

Once you feel comfortable with spinning on a trampoline, try progressing to a front flip. This requires you to propel your body forward, upside down and land your feet at the ends. You must jump get momentum by jumping high, pull your knees to your chest while you flip forward and try to land on your feet. In the beginning, it is perfectly normal to land on your buttocks. Just keep jumping higher as you become more comfortable with the maneuver, and keep practicing. It is important you execute the front flip before moving on to more difficult maneuvers.

Basic Back Flip

This is more difficult than spinning or front flips because you cannot spot your landing until the jump is halfway complete. You must apply the same basics as a front flip to the back flip; jump high and keep your knees tucked closely to your chest. You must lean back to accomplish a safe rotation; remember it is safer to over-rotate than under rotate. The latter may result in falling on your hands and knees, and causing potential injury. If possible, have a spotter to help you execute a back flip until you feel comfortable. .

No Hands Backflip

The no hands backflip is one of the most difficult flip tricks to perform. It is identical to a back flip, except your hands do not touch the trampoline. You must have the lower body strength and momentum to execute this safely. To begin, you should jump pretty high a few times to gain height before flipping. Once you feel comfortable, throw your head and body backward, and try to land on your feet. As with the front flip, you may land on your hands and knees at first, but keep practicing by developing strength and proper technique to properly complete a no hands backflip.
