Vegetables are not only full of antioxidants, but they contain plenty of nutrients to help get rid of fat. Along with cardiovascular exercise, adding veggies to your diet allows you to consume more food without a lot of extra calories and lose body fat. Make a grocery list with particular vegetables that contain the vitamins and minerals necessary to burn abdominal fat.

Spinach

Spinach is a super food, packed with antioxidants and calcium. The latter provides extra fuel for your muscles during a workout, so that you can exercise longer and burn more calories. It is also low in caloric content and high in fiber, so you feel satiated longer.

Broccoli

Like spinach, broccoli is full of antioxidants as well as calcium, folic acid and vitamin C. The fiber keeps you feeling fuller longer and it burns fat during the digestion process. Your body uses more energy to digest broccoli, so it helps burn fat around the abdomen, as well as the rest of your body.

Peppers

A variety of peppers are helpful at burning abdominal fat. Foods like chilies, cayenne peppers and jalapeno peppers contain capsaicin. This chemical helps rev up your metabolism and increases your energy to help fuel your workouts. Fat Free Kitchen states that foods rich in capsaicin are capable of burning calories for up to 20 minutes after consumption.

Carrots

Carrots contain large amounts of carotene. This converts to vitamin A once it reaches the intestines and helps boost metabolism and promotes calorie expenditure.

Mushrooms

Mushrooms are a perfect complement to green vegetables because they are the only vegetable that contains vitamin D. Vitamin D aids in the absorption of calcium from green veggies, which permit longer workouts to burn more stomach fat.
