Children involved in health programs have a decreased risk of obesity and health-related issues. They will feel less stressed, perform better in school, maintain a healthy weight, sleep better each night, and build and keep healthy bones, muscles and joints. Providing kids with proper training in good nutrition and promoting regular physical activity aids in preventing immediate and long-term health-risk factors for cardiovascular disease such as high blood pressure, high blood cholesterol and triglycerides, low blood HDL and blood-clotting abnormalities. They may also experience symptoms of insulin resistance type II diabetes.

Presidential Active Lifestyle Award
Presidential Active Lifestyle Award encourages kids to get moving and get healthy through performing outdoor physical activities. It's recommended for ages 6 to 17. Children have the freedom to participate in those activities they find enjoyable, such as gardening, basketball, sledding or skating. Each child works toward a goal to achieve an award. If he commits to following this program for at least five days a week, for six out of eight weeks, he earns the award.
Kids and Fitness Program
When schools exclude physical education from their curriculum, kids tend to lack the physical activity that is important for them to stay fit and healthy. Kids and Fitness is an exciting, structured program designed to give children 30 minutes of exercise at least three days a week to improve their fitness and overall health. This program works with children to help them achieve their goals.
