Apple and honey diets utilize the natural vitamins, minerals and fiber from these raw foods to help you lose weight while providing health benefits. Apple honey diets are designed to provide at least one serving of apples and honey at each meal. Apples can be eaten raw, cooked, juiced or distilled into vinegar. Honey is a natural sweetener and digestive aid mixed in apple cider or other apple foods for flavor. Always consult your physician before starting any diet or weight loss plan.

Apple Cider Honey Diet

The apple cider and honey diet uses organic apple cider vinegar. It can be used to marinate food, as a salad dressing and mixed in sauces for tang. Honey is used as a sweetener for hot drinks and desserts. Apple cider vinegar mixed with honey is also consumed as a beverage during meals on the diet. The basis of the honey apple diet is the natural ability of honey to abate hunger and apples' ability to naturally help you lose weight. Proponents of the apple cider and honey diet believe apple cider vinegar burns fat, instead of being stored in the body. Honey aids digestion and reduces the harsh flavor of the apple cider vinegar so it is more palatable to drink.

Apple Detox Diet with Honey

The apple detox diet is comprised of apples before each meal with a drink made from an infusion of apple peels prepared with tea and sweetened with honey. After drinking the tea, the apple peels are eaten. Before breakfast, drink fresh apple juice mixed with the juice from two lemons. Before lunch, eat one or two apples with the apple peel and honey tea. Apples at dinner are eaten with the meal and consist of a bowl of spiced apples sweetened with honey.

The apple detox diet is based around the high fiber content of apples, their high vitamin content and ability to sate hunger.

Apple and Honey Diet Benefits

Apples have a long history as having positive health benefits. Jeanelle Boyer and Rui Hai Liu of Cornell University noted in an article published in the May 2004 issue of the "Nutrition Journal" that the phytochemicals in apples may decrease the risk of chronic diseases such as heart disease, cancer and type II diabetes, lowers blood glucose and helps you lose weight. Honey is easy to digest, satisfies a sweet tooth and may keep you feeling fuller longer. A variety of diets combines the natural health benefits of apples and honey for weight loss.
