Contour Abs is a product typically advertised via infomercial. The manufacturer claims that it gives you toned abs with little to no effort on your part. The belt contracts your muscles involuntarily. While there's no way that Contour Abs can replace a regular abdominal workout, notes the Diet Spotlight website, it can be used in conjunction with an exercise program. If you've purchased a Contour Abs belt you'll notice that it comes with a variety of parts and pieces. Put it together properly for safety and the best results.
Step 1
Insert four AAA batteries in the back of the muscle stimulator pack and replace the backing. Slide the belt clip into the grooves on the back and set aside.
Step 2
Connect the stimulator to the belt by sliding it into the provided holster, placing the lip of the clip over the side of the belt for added security. Lay the belt on a flat surface, with the inside of the belt facing you.
Step 3
Remove the backing from the included gel pads. These will have small connectors attached to them. The backing is blue, notes the instructional video of Contour Abs. Place the pads, sticky down, on the areas denoted by white ovals on the inside of the belt. Lay two vertically in the center, and then adhere horizontal pads to either side of the belt. Ensure that the connectors are at the top of each gel pad.
Step 4
Thread the gel pad connectors through the holes at the corners of the belt, with two on each side. Pull the muscle stimulator cords across the belt and through the belt loops and attach each muscle stimulator connector to a gel pad connector on each side of the belt. You'll have four connections overall.
Step 5
Remove the polka-dotted gel pad liners and place the Contour Abs belt across your bare stomach. Thread the belt through the belt loops and fasten securely. Your belt should be snug against your skin, but shouldn't prohibit movement through your trunk and torso.
Step 6
Start the Contour Abs belt on a low setting, such as 20. As you become more comfortable with wearing the belt, you can slowly raise the setting. The stimulator setting goes all the way to 100 using a dial system, so once you feel comfortable with one setting, bring it higher. Wear the belt for 10 minutes per day and continue your diet and exercise routine for the best results.
