Unlike conventional genres of rollerskating, aggressive inline skaters prefer the obstacles commonly used by skateboarders and BMX riders. According to ONE Rollerblading Magazine, aggressive inline skates feature a specialized plate that surrounds the skate wheels. The base plate allows you to grind down marble ledges and handrails. Learning the basic skating techniques will enable you to move on to more difficult maneuvers.

Jumping

Jumping remains the most basic aggressive inline technique. Jump over grass gaps or catch air off inclined skate ramps. Push off the wheels of your skates to gain speed. Bend your knees to increase your balance. Jump vertically to lift your wheels off the pavement or riding terrain. Raise your knees as high as possible to maximize your air time. Ensure that the wheels of your skates remain parallel to the ground as you begin to descend. Bend your knees to absorb the shock of the jump.

Spins

Add style to your jumps by adding a few rotations. While the 180 degree spin remains the most basic, rolling away backward might be difficult at first. Attempt a 360-degree spin while standing in a stationary position. Rotate your shoulders as your wheels lift off the pavement. Turn your head in the direction of the spin. Watch the ground to spot your landing. Once you master the stationary rotation, attempt a rolling spin on flat ground.

Grabs

Aggressive inline skaters use the grab to maintain a compact stance during high altitude maneuvers. As you begin to soar above the pavement or skate ramp, extend your dominant hand to the base of your rollerskating boots. Grab the underside of the boot while keeping your knees bent. Release your hand from the skates as you begin to descend from the trick. Execute double grabs by using both of your hands to add difficulty to the maneuver.

Grinding

The grind remains one of the more intimidating aggressive inline tricks. Find a low ledge or rail at your local skate park to learn the grinding maneuver. Approach the obstacle with a medium amount of speed. Jump vertically above the rail or ledge. Aggressive Mall recommends rotating your shoulders 90 degrees to make your skates perpendicular with the obstacle. Align the center of your base plates onto the rail or ledge. Bend your knees as your begin to grind. Jump away from the obstacle to dismount and roll away.
