The EXP 1000 is a motorized, residential treadmill from NordicTrack. This entry-level treadmill folds-up for easy storage. The 1.5 horsepower motor supports a speed range from 0 to 10 mph, in .1 mph increments. The ramp can be set at an incline from 0 to 10 percent. The EXP 1000 offers three preset workout programs and a manual programming mode. Measure your heart rate with the pulse sensors on the hand rails. The EXP 1000 has a maximum user capacity of 250 lbs.
Use Manual Programming Mode
Step 1
Attach the key clip to your waistband. Insert the safety key into the slot on the console. The console will light up.
Step 2
Press the weight "+" or "-" button. This will allow you to input your current weight. Use the "+" and "-" buttons to select your weight. After four seconds the value is automatically saved.
Step 3
Press the age up or down arrow button. This will allow you to enter your age. Use the up and down arrow buttons to select your age. The setting is saved after four seconds.
Step 4
Press the "Start" button. The belt begins moving at 1 mph. Press the speed "+" or "-" button to adjust the speed in .1 mph increments. If you hold a button down, the speed will change in .5 mph increments.
Step 5
Press the incline up or down arrow buttons to adjust the ramp elevation. The incline changes by .5 percent with each press of a button.
Step 6
Stand on the foot rails. Place your hands on the inner hand rails to measure your heart rate. Wait until your pulse appears in the display area. Step back onto the belt to resume your workout.
Step 7
Step onto the foot rails. Press the "Stop" button to stop your workout.
Use Preset Programs
Step 1
Attach the key clip to your waistband. Insert the safety key into the console.
Step 2
Press the "Select Program" button until the desired program lights up.
Step 3
Press the "Start" button.
Step 4
Override the program incline and speed settings using the buttons on the console, if desired. Otherwise, the treadmill automatically adjusts the speed and incline settings for your throughout the workout.
Step 5
Step on the foot rails when the program stops. Remove the safety key from the console.
Fold Treadmill
Step 1
Press the incline arrow down button to adjust the incline to the lowest setting.
Step 2
Remove the safety key from the console and unplug the treadmill.
Step 3
Lift the back of the treadmill with both hands. Hold the treadmill in the vertical position with your right hand. Use your left hand to pull the latch knob out.
Step 4
Raise the treadmill until the latch pin is aligned with the hold in the catch. Insert the latch pin.
