If you have noticed that you or your children cannot jump as high on your trampoline as you used to, there could be problems with the trampoline's tension. According to Sweden's Trampoline Doctor, over time the tension in the trampoline will lessen, bounce will get worse and you will not be thrown as high in the air. There are a few things you can do to adjust the tension and restore the bounce to your trampoline.

Step 1

Inspect your trampoline for damaged springs, mats or padding. Damages to any part is dangerous and can restrict performance. Sometimes tightening or fixing the spring can prevent damage to other springs and fixes the problem. Fun Spot.com notes that coil tension should be similar throughout the springs.

Step 2

Add an extra frame ring to your trampoline. According to the Trampoline Doctor, this will make your trampoline a bit larger in diameter and this repair can be effective if only a small adjustment is needed. For instance, if all of the parts look good and you still are not seeing results, this can help fix the bouncy issues.

Step 3

Change out any loose springs or badly damaged springs, as the Trampoline Doctor says that frame rings will not work if the springs are stretched too long or too soft. Fun Spot.com notes that if jumpers are bottoming out then multiple springs may need repair and Fun Spot also advises replacing springs if any hooks are bent.
