Odwalla is a juice company based in California that makes a variety of fruit juices as well as snack bars. According to their website, the company operates on the three principles of making great juice, doing good for the community and building a business by heart. They market over 30 fruit juices and 13 food bars that contain no artificial flavoring or coloring or added preservatives. Mango Tango is one of their natural fruit juice flavors that blends mango with a variety of other fruits.

Fruit Smoothie Blend

Mango Tango is an 87 percent juice/puree blend of tropical fruits, according to Odwalla. The main ingredient is the mango puree with one full mango puree in each bottle. It also contains a banana puree as well as orange, apple, lemon and coconut juices.

Supplement Facts

Odwalla Mango Tango juice blend is available in 16-oz. plastic bottles, which consist of two 8-oz. servings. Each serving contains 150 calories, 1 g of fat and 1 g of protein. A single serving also contains 34 carbohydrates, 30 g of which come from sugar. Mango Tango also contains 10 mg of sodium and 250 mg of potassium per serving, as well as 2 percent of the recommended daily value of calcium and iron.

Considerations

Although the Odwalla Mango Tango fruit juice contains several fruits and is all natural and low in fat, it is important to consider the high sugar and calorie content of the drink. A entire bottle, or two servings, contains 300 calories and 60 g of sugar. Based on a 2,000 calorie diet, a bottle of Mango Tango accounts for 15 percent of daily calorie allotment and it is not a significant source of protein or fiber. To lose weight, you must consume fewer calories than used by your body and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention recommends looking to drinks as a way to cut calories and not just foods.

Mango Tango and Summertime Lime

The Odwalla website recommends making a summertime refreshment by combining Mango Tango with Odwalla Summertime Lime, mint and club soda. Odwalla Summertime Lime contains slightly less calories than Mango Tango -- only 120 per 8-oz. serving.
