Winter ski games are designed to help you improve your skiing techniques as well as your speed on the slopes. Winter ski games range from slalom ski games to group relay games. Although many winter ski games are designed for advanced and competitive skiers, other skiing games are designed for beginners or just for fun.
Simon Says
The Simon Says ski game is designed to improve your reaction time on skis. Have a player stand at the base of the run with a ski pole in his hand and act as Simon. From here, set up slalom poles 5 feet apart down the entire run. Ski down the hill and wait for Simon to tell you whether to ski to the right of the slalom poles or the left. If you turn the wrong way, you are eliminated from the game.
Descending 360 Turn Game
The descending 360 turn game is designed for advanced skiers looking to improve their 360 degree turns. Start at the top of the hill with a partner at the base of the run. On his mark, start skiing down the hill and perform as many 360 turns as you can before the end of the run. According to Ski Enthusiast, you perform a 360 turn by starting a normal turn and continuing to turn, keeping your edge up the entire time you are turning. The winner of the game is the skier who performed the most successful turns before finishing the run.
Human Slalom Game
The human slalon game is designed to improve your turning as well as keep you and your friends entertained. Have a group of kids take off their skis and stand in a straight line on a ski slope. Make sure the kids are at least 5 feet apart from each other. From here, stand at the top of the hill with your skis and ski between each of the kids, using them as slalom poles. Have a person stand at the bottom of the hill and time your run. The winner of the game is the kid with the fastest time.
Cross Country Ski Tag
The cross country ski tag game is designed to improve your endurance as well as your speed on cross country skis. Get a group of friends together and mark off two sides of a cross country course. From here, pick one player to be it. On your mark, have the rest of the skiers attempt to get to the other side of the course without being tagged. If you are tagged you are out of the game. Go back and forth across the course until one person is left. The last person standing is the winner.
