Pro skate tricks are designed to help you improve the number of tricks you can perform as well as your technical proficiency on a skateboard. While many pro skate tricks can only be performed by advanced skaters, some can be simplified and done by novices.
Nothing Air
This skate trick is designed to teach you how to perform a no-footed Ollie. Start by doing a one-footed Ollie. To perform a one-foot Ollie, place your back foot on the back edge of the board and shift your back weight to the front of the board. Instead of keeping your front foot on the board, slide it over the front edge of the board. Slip your back foot off the board for an instant. To land, return your back foot to the board right before it hits the ground.
Frontside 50-50
The trick is designed to help improve your grind-and-slide repertoire. Start this trick by approaching a rail or grind at a slight angle. According to Skateboard City, you must approach the rail with your front side facing the rail. Once you get 2 feet from the rail, perform an Ollie and land the front edge of your board on the rail. Grind for as long as you can before hopping off the rail and back onto the ground.
Frontside 180
This trick is designed to help you improve your ability to get air and perform ramp tricks. Start by pushing off your board and heading toward a ramp. As you approach the top of the ramp, bend down and perform an Ollie off the top of the ramp. While in midair, do a 180-degree rotation, making sure to land with your board in a classic fakie position. Continue to ride forward to finish the trick.
Indy Grab
The Indy Grab teaches you to perform a grab in midair. Start by getting speed on a level surface and pointing your board toward a ramp or half-pipe. As you approach the lip of the ramp, Ollie up into the air and rotate your body so you are perpendicular with your original skating position. While in the air, grab the board between your feet and hold for a second before rotating back and landing the trick.
