Basketball dribble games are designed to improve your dribbling technique as well as your overall dribbling speed. While many basketball dribbling games are performed in larger groups or with your entire team, some basketball dribbling games can be performed with one additional partner or by yourself if you are willing to use your imagination.

Basketball Frenzy Game

This game is designed to improve your quickness as well as your overall dribbling skills. Grab several basketballs and scatter them on the basketball court. On your coach's whistle, run to one of the balls and immediately start dribbling it. Have the rest of the players on your team run to the other balls and start dribbling them. After two dribbles, move away from the ball you are dribbling and dribble another ball for two dribbles. Continue to do this in an effort to keep all of the balls dribbling at the same time.

Dribble Keep-Away

The dribble keep-away game is designed to improve your ability to protect the ball while dribbling. Grab two basketballs and a partner and get to the center of the court. Hand a ball to your partner and begin to dribble on your coach's whistle. Dribble the ball with one hand while trying to knock your opponents ball out of his hand. The first player to successfully knock the other player's ball out is the winner of the game.

Between The Legs Game

The between the legs game is designed to improve your ability to dribble the ball in between your legs. Grab a basketball and dribble out to center court. On your coach's whistle, start dribbling the ball between your legs, moving from your right to left hand and then left hand to right hand. Have your coach count how many successful through the legs dribbles you can perform in one minute. Have the rest of your team perform the same exercise to see who can perform the most dribbles in a minute.

Hot Spot Dribbling

The hot spot dribbling game is designed to improve your dribbling speed as well as your ability to turn with the ball. Start the drill by placing a variety of poly spots on the gym floor. If you don't have poly spots you can use any other marker, such as cones or pieces of paper. Get your team together and break them up into two teams of four. On your coach's whistle, have the first player from each line dribble out to the poly spots, pick one up and dribble back to his line. Once he returns to the line, have him pass the ball to the next player and have them repeat until all the spots are gone. The team with the most spots wins.
