Volleyball camp drills are designed to improve your passing, scoring and footwork on the court. According to Strength and Power for Volleyball, drills are also used to help improve timing as well as overall ball control. Volleyball camp drills range from defensive drills to spiking drills.

Lateral Hop Drill

Oregon State sports performance coordinator Bryan Miller says this drill is designed to improve your agility and speed on the court. Start the drill by standing on your right leg. On your coach's whistle, push off your right leg to your left side and land on your left leg. Hold this position for two seconds before pushing back to your right leg. Perform two sets of 10 repetitions to complete this drill. As you improve, you can add an additional set or two.

Tip Top Passing

This drill is designed to improve your passing by teaching you how to pass using only your fingertips. Start with a volleyball in your hand and a partner several feet away. On your coach's whistle, pass the ball to your teammate using only your fingertips. Have your teammate catch the ball with his fingertips and quickly pass it back to you. If a pass fails to reach your partner or you pass the ball using your palm, you must pause the drill and perform 20 sit-ups. Repeat until fatigued.

Solo Block Drill

This drill is designed to teach blockers how to solo block. Start by standing at the net with a ball in your hand. Have a hitter line up on the other side of the net and toss the ball over the net for the hitter. As the hitter comes down on the ball, jump up to block the ball back down to the other side of the net. Perform 10 times in a row.

Around the World

This drill is designed to help you improve your serving accuracy and compete under pressure. Break up your servers into two teams, standing on opposite ends of the court. Break each side of the court up into six isolated blocks. From here, have one player on each team sit in one block on their own side. Have a server from each side serve the ball at the seated player, attempting to hit the ball so the player can catch it without getting up. The winner of the drill is the team who has successfully served the ball to each section of the court.
