The P90X workout plan is a 12 DVD, 90-day home fitness program. It features strength-training workouts for individual body parts, cardio routines, stretching exercises and core exercises. The American Council on Exercise reports that the workout program requires 60 to 90 minutes a day, resistance bands and a place to do pull-ups.

12 workouts

The main feature of the P90X program is the full-body workout program. The exercise routine focuses on all elements of physical fitness including stretching, strength training and cardio. There are 12 DVDs that feature different workouts. Strength-training workouts include chest and back, shoulders and biceps, legs and back and core. The cardio routines include plyometrics, a kicking and punching routine and a lower intensity routine. There is also a yoga DVD and a stretching DVD.

Fitness Guide

The P90X workout plan is more than exercises. In order to see the maximum results and get absolutely ripped in just 90 days as P90X claims you can do with the program, you must follow all aspects of the program. The P90X fitness guide includes everything you need to know about the exercise program-- how to properly perform the exercises and how to use your goals to customize the workout plan

The Nutrition Plan

The America Dietetic Association reports that it is necessary to eat the proper foods prior to working out to give you energy and strength. That is why P90X comes with a three-phase nutrition plan meant to compliment the workout routines. The phases are Phase One Fat Shredder, energy booster and endurance maximizer. The nutrition plan is customizable to meet your goals. P90X explains that it is designed to burn stored fats while building lean muscle.

Beyond the package of DVDs and guides P90X also provides an online support system. All purchasers of the program receive access to a workout calendar to track their workouts and progress. They also receive access to an online community of experts and other people who have and are participating in the P90X workout program.
