Characteristics of Pro V1 Golf Balls

Using the proper ball is an important factor for a low score on the golf course. You can have the right clubs, but without the right ball, you won't be able to optimize your game. Every ball is designed to fit certain players and certain situations. The Titleist Pro V1 has a soft feel and is designed for consistent flight. It's favored by low-handicap players and a number of PGA Tour professionals.

Design

The Pro V1 has a large, solid core made of polybutadiene, which helps give the ball a soft feel on every shot. The casing is thin, just .035 inches thick. The 392 high-coverage dimple design provides a long, consistent trajectory. The cover is urethane elastomer with a thickness of .030 inches. Titleist claims it is the most durable of all the Titleist tour-played golf balls.

Putting

The Pro V1 features the Titleist alignment integrated marking, or A.I.M., side stamp. The Pro V1 and Pro V1x are the only Titleist balls with this technology, which was introduced in 2007. The model name is imprinted with extended arrows on each side of the name. This simple but useful technology better assists you in lining up putts.

Parting Line

Every golf ball has a parting line, the seam of the ball. The Titleist Pro V1 features a staggered wave parting line, which bends and curves around the dimples on the ball. This allows Titleist to more densely pack the Pro V1 with dimples, and the dense dimpling pattern provides greater distance and a consistently higher flight path.

Style

The Titleist Pro V1 is a higher-priced, advanced-technology ball designed for better players. It has a low spin with a high initial velocity off the tee and is a good choice for golfers with high swing speeds. It has a medium to firm compression. The low spin and hard cover are designed for low-handicap golfers.
