Superpump 250 and No Xplode are two popular pre-workout supplements. The products are intended to increase your energy levels before workouts in order to improve your strength and stamina. Although these products claim to have similar benefits, Superpump 250 and No Xplode have several important differences.
Calorie Content
Calories provide your body with energy. Both Superpump 250 and No Xplode are low in calories, with 25 calories per serving. This amount is just more than 1 percent of the daily recommended intake of 2,000 calories, so neither supplement is inappropriate for dieters.
Stimulant Content
Superpump 250 and No Xplode provide energy via the stimulants they contain. Both supplements provide caffeine, but neither supplement company discloses the exact caffeine content. Superpump 250 and No Xplode also both contain taurine, The Mayo Clinic explains that studies have shown taurine may be helpful for athletic performance but that little is known about long-term taurine supplementation.
Amino Acid Content
Superpump 250 and No Xplode both contain amino acids, although Superpump 250 contains more than No Xplode does. Among the amino acids that Superpump contains but No Xplode does not are isoleucine, leucine, valine. These amino acids are often referred to as the branched chain amino acids, or BCAAs. Amino acids are the building blocks of muscle, and BCAA intake may reduce your risk of obesity, according to a December 2010 study from the "Journal of Nutrition."
Creatine Content
Superpump 250 and No Xplode each contain forms of creatine. Superpump 250 contains creatine monohydrate, while No Xplode contains creatine ethyl ester. Although creatine ethyl ester may be more readily absorbed by your body, fitness expert Kames O'Bryne explains that the differences between the two forms are unlikely to be significant.
Flavors
Superpump 250 and No Xplode are both available in a variety of flavors. Superpump 250 comes in blue raspberry, fruit punch, orange, grape, lemon, tropical punch and raspberry lemonade. No Xplode is available in orange, blue raspberry, fruit punch, grape, lemon lime and lemonade.
Servings
Superpump 250 is available in two sizes, 14-serving tubs and 40-serving tubs. No Xplode comes in 50-serving tubs.
