Boswellia
Boswellia is commonly used for treating symptoms of arthritis and osteoarthritis. According to the University of Michigan Health Center, studies show that this herb has anti-inflammatory properties similar to conventional nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs, or NSAIDS. To use this herb for treating symptoms of inflammation associated with fibromyalgia, doses of 400 mg of the herbal extract three times per day, the university recommends.
Dandelion
The leaves of the dandelion are used as an antiviral agent, immune system booster and digestive aid. In addition, the flower is rich in antioxidant properties. According to the University of Maryland Medical Center, dandelion root is commonly used by health care professionals to promote detoxification of the liver and the leaves are used to support kidney function. The potassium found in the dandelion flower may help relieve symptoms of fibromyalgia. To make an herbal infusion using dandelion, the university suggests pouring hot water over 1 to 2 tsp. of dried leaves. Allow the infusion to stand for 10 minutes and drink it up to three times per day.
Chamomile
Fibromyalgia may lead to bouts of sleeplessness due to pain. Chamomile is a relaxing herb commonly used as a stress reliever as well as an herbal sleep aid. In addition to the calming and relaxing properties of this herb, it also contains antiviral and antibacterial properties. When used as an alternative treatment for fibromyalgia, chamomile may help reduce inflammation. To use this herb in a calming tea, pour one cup of boiling water over three heaping tablespoons of the dried herb. Allow the tea to sit for 10 minutes. You can consume this up to four times per day to relieve your fibromyalgia symptoms.

Certain herbs may have adverse reactions if used in conjunction with each other, prescription medications and some over-the-counter medications.
