Losing weight with the Wii Fit is possible because the game offers a variety of strength and cardio exercises that burn calories. You are also more likely to exercise if you find the experience enjoyable, as with Wii Fit. The weight and BMI tracker, included with the Wii Fit, also help you become awarene of lifestyle habits that cause you to gain weight.
Step 1
Warm up with Wii Fit exercises from the aerobics category. The American Academy of Family Physicians advises to "start an exercise session with a gradual warm-up period... (about five to ten minutes)." Accordingly, start off easy with Wii Fit.
Step 2
Spend at least 30 to 45 minutes on the Wii Fit each day, with at least 150 minutes of the total minutes from the week being aerobic mode exercises.
Step 3
Mix up your workouts. Try devoting an entire session to one of the Wii Fit categories each day: Yoga, Strength Training, Aerobics or Balance Games. Alternately, try doing an exercise session using two or three exercises from each category.
Step 4
Challenge yourself. As you unlock more exercises and more difficult levels of mastered exercises, challenge yourself to get better so you can lose more weight and get healthier.
Step 5
Use the Activity Log to record additional exercise that you do outside of your Wii Fit regimen. These minutes contribute to your Fit Credits, which helps you to unlock additional exercises on the Wii Fit.
Step 6
Cool down with light aerobic exercises and yoga stretches. The American Academy of Family Physicians recommends a cool-down period of five to ten minutes.
