The Hollywood Miracle Diets include the Cookie Diet, the 15-Day Detox and the 24-Hour and 48-Hour Miracle Juice Diets. The company claims that its 24- and 48-Hour diets can help you lose weight quickly or jumpstart a weight loss program, but be cautious about a weight loss program that requires you to purchase its special diet products and encourages fasting. Get your doctor's approval before starting any diet.
Background
While following the 24-Hour or the 48-Hour Miracle Juice diet, you may not eat any solid foods, and the only calories and nutrients you get are from the all-natural juice products. During the day or days that you are on the diet, drink plenty of water throughout the day, and do not use caffeine, alcohol or tobacco. While you are not on the fast, the Hollywood Diet recommends exercising regularly and eating a healthy diet.
Miracle Juice
The 48-Hour Miracle Diet juice has water, pineapple, apple, orange, apple, banana and essential oils from citrus. The 24-Hour Miracle Diet is also juice-based, and this product has components of apple, cranberry, raspberry, blueberry, blackberry, strawberry and acai berry. It also has garcinia cambogia, a weight loss supplement that may act as an appetite suppressant, but may have dangerous side effects. You prepare each serving by mixing 4 oz. of juice with an equal amount of water.
Nutrition
You drink four 100-calorie servings per day on the 48-Hour or 24-Hour Miracle Juice Diet, and each serving of the products has 25 g carbohydrates, including 22 g sugars, and no fat, protein or cholesterol. The 48-Hour Miracle Diet Juice has 75 percent of the daily value for vitamin A, vitamin C, vitamin D, vitamin E and the B vitamins, and the juice for the 24-Hour diet has 100 percent of the daily value. Neither juice has essential minerals such as calcium or iron.
Weight Loss
The Hollywood Miracle Juice diets state that you can lose up to 5 lbs. in 1 day or 10 lbs. in 2 days, but the Mayo Clinic states that losing weight this quickly most likely means that you are losing water weight, and not burning stored fat. For sustainable weight loss that helps you achieve your goals and avoid regaining the weight, a rate of 1 to 2 lbs. per week is usually more realistic. If you need to lose weight, ask your doctor to help you choose a healthy diet.
