As you get older, facial wrinkles become inevitable. The decrease in collagen production as well as lifestyle choices such as sun exposure and smoking, play an important role in the severity of wrinkling. Certain exercises can be done to increase blood circulation and lessen the appearance of fine lines. Before getting injections or plastic surgery, try some face exercises to tighten up those wrinkles.
Jowl Lifter
The jowls are located close to your mouth. The jowl lifter exercise will help firm and tighten them. Gently place your fingertips on your jawline, then bring them down approximately one inch below the jaws. Look up and cover your bottom lip over your top lip and turn your head to the side. With your eyes tightly closed, massage your jawline in a circular motion towards the corners of your mouth.
Forehead Exercise
Sometimes the forehead reveals the most pronounced fine lines and wrinkles. You can firm up droopy skin by placing both of your index fingers over your eyelids. Lift your eyebrows up while slowly pulling your eyelids down.
Crows Feet
The skin around your eyes is very sensitive and susceptible to crows feet over time. Close your eyes and place both thumbs on the corners of your eyes. Gently massage this area, working your thumbs to your temples, then back to your eyes.
Lip Exercise
The skin around the lips develops fine lines and wrinkles particularly severe in those who smoke. You can firm this area by placing one finger inside your mouth and sucking as hard as possible. Hold for a few seconds then remove and repeat several times daily.
Cheek Exercise
Firm your cheek skin by placing three fingers on your cheeks and gently pressing downward. At the same time, smile to place pressure against your fingers. Hold for a few seconds then relax. Repeat a few times daily.
