There are benefits to jogging on a treadmill as well as many benefits to jogging outside. When you choose to start running, take a look at both options to see which will work best for you or to alternate them.

Weather or Safety

If using a treadmill, there is no worrying about weather or safety in your neighborhood. In climates that have a colder winter season, this can be the way to get the run in every day.

Fresh Air

There is no comparison to enjoying a jog outside on a sunny day, and enjoying fresh air. Running outside also leads itself well to running with a friend.

Easier on joints

Jogging on a treadmill is easier on the joints throughout the body.

Convenience

Jogging on the treadmill can be convenient if you have small children at home. Jogging outside can also is convenient if you don't have the space or money for a treadmill in your home and have a jogging stroller.

Track Time or Distance

Using a treadmill, there's no need to keep track of the time or the distance you have run. Some treadmills come with a rate gauge to help with heart beats per minute. You choose the pace to run and what percentage of incline on the treadmill.
