How to Juice Vegetables for High Blood Pressure

Hypertension -- the medical term for high blood pressure -- is known as the "silent killer" because it can cause life-threatening health conditions, including stroke and heart attack, without any signs or symptoms. Therefore, if you have been diagnosed with hypertension, it is essential that you take treatment seriously and immediately. Some vegetables can reduce blood pressure, making them excellent choices to include in a juicing regimen. Consult your physician prior to juicing, or using any other home remedy, to treat your hypertension.

Step 1

Rinse four celery stalks, one carrot, one tomato and 1 cup broccoli to prepare them for juicing. Because most of the nutrients are concentrated just under the skin, leave the carrot unpeeled. These vegetables contain gamma-amino butyric acid, which has properties that naturally lowers blood pressure, according to "Contemporary Nutrition."

Step 2

Choose fruits you would like to add to the juice for sweetness and flavor, such as an apple or pear. But don't peel the skin off, if you add one of these fruits. Just scrub lightly with a brush.

Step 3

Place a glass at the mouth of your juicer. Feed the vegetables and any fruits you desire into the juicer.

Step 4

Turn off the juicer and drink your vegetable juice. Enjoy a glass of vegetable juice up to three times per day. "Contemporary Nutrition" suggests not exceeding three glasses per day to prevent diarrhea.
