The Reebok step platform adjusts in height to 6, 8 and 10 inches, which enables you to increase or decrease the intensity of your step workout. The American Council on Exercise says that 8 inches is the most common height for seasoned steppers, but recommends that beginners start with a 4-inch step. You adjust the Reebok step by repositioning the risers and locking them into place.
Step 1
Turn the Reebok step upside down and snap one gray block into each end of the platform so the bottom side of each block and the bottom of each side of the platform are flush. When you flip the step back over, both the black legs of the platform and the bottom of the gray blocks will sit on the floor. Give your body time to adjust to this height before going up to an 8-inch step.
Step 2
Raise the platform to 8 inches by moving the blocks outward to the next highest position. Turn the step over and unlock the gray risers. Move each riser out one level so the black platform will sit on top of the outermost section of the gray block when turned over. Snap the blocks into place. Although the 8-inch step is popular, it may not be for everyone. The American Council on Exercises recommends that you choose a step height that doesn't require you to flex your knee more than 90 degrees when you step up on the platform.
Step 3
Adjust the Reebok step to its highest 10-inch position. After flipping the platform over, unsnap the blocks and move them outward so both legs of the platform sit on the highest section of the riser. The bottom step of the riser will now extend past the platform on each end. The 10-inch height is more appropriate for highly fit, experienced steppers.
