Star Trac manufactures an array of weightlifting equipment that you'd typically find in a health club or gym. The company makes everything from training stations to benches to weights and weight machines and sells them on the worldwide market. Although its weightlifting equipment may be found from Great Britain to Berlin, the company is based in California.

Stations

Star Trac makes training stations that you can use for the bench press, the incline and decline bench press and a front military press, as well as a squat rack and a 45-degree hyperextension station. The stations are made of heavy-gauge steel. Some feature replaceable parts like the head strap because it is a high-wear area. Such stations are typically found at gyms and similar training facilities. Star Trac has a multi-station product line as well. Such stations combine single stations into units that accommodate nine to 14 exercises. The company also makes a cross-over cable station that features pulleys as well as pull-up bars. These stations are designed to have a small footprint, meaning they take up a small amount of floor space compared to other units.

Benches and Weights

Star Trac also manufactures a variety of weight training benches. These include a seated bench designed for preacher curls, a bench that is adjustable to 90 degrees, a decline bench, a flat bench, and a seat with a padded back called a triceps bench. You sit or lie on these benches when you work with free weights or barbells. The company makes the weights that you can use at the training stations or on the benches as well. The dumbbells, bars and weight plates come in pound and kilogram designations. The company offers eight varieties of racks for free weight storage as well.

Machines

Some of Star Trac's weightlifting products are weight machines, marketed under the HumanSport product line. For example, one machine can be used to work your shoulders and chest. The HumanSport line also includes a lat pulley, an arm crunch machine, a machine for working your deltoids and a "total legs" machine.

BBB Rating and History

In late 2010, Star Trac had a Better Business Bureau rating of "F" on a scale of A-plus to F. That's mainly due to the fact that the company had not answered nine of 10 complaints made in the previous 36 months. In one case, the company issued a full refund as requested by the customer. Star Trac has been in business since 1979. The California-based company has grown to provide service locations in the United Kingdom, Singapore, Munich, Barcelona and Berlin. Star Trac bills itself as "the fastest-growing privately-held fitness equipment company in the world."
