Kundalini yoga is a branch of yoga that uses breath, movement, meditation and mantra to unlock the kundalini, the creative energy thought to be locked at the base of your spine. Specific yoga kriyas or cleansing rituals, work to move this energy upward through the seven chakras in the body. To train and certify Kundalini yoga teachers, one must first study kundalini yoga through a three level teacher training program through the 3HO organization and the Kundalini Research Institute. The program lasts several years.
