Heliocare is a sun protectant in the form of a capsule that is manufactured by Pharmacy Direct Ltd. of New Zealand. Pharmacy Direct says the supplement's antioxidant properties will protect the skin from sun-related aging by reducing skin changes after chronic sun exposure, protecting cell DNA, maintaining skin elasticity and increasing skin tolerance to the sun. The manufacturers also say Heliocare works well to protect cells deep within the skin, which is something topical antioxidants fail to do. The active ingredient in Heliocare, polypodium leucotomos extract, has been proven to decrease UVA damage, prevent sunburn and prevent cell depletion upon UV exposure. Always consult your doctor before taking any new supplement.
Step 1
Take one capsule of Heliocare with water first thing in the morning daily.
Step 2
Take 1 capsule 30 minutes before exposure to sunlight if you anticipate heavy sun exposure that day. Take another capsule two to three hours after taking the first capsule.
Step 3
Continue to apply at least an SPF 15 sunscreen while taking Heliocare, for optimal results.
