How to Put Together a Weslo Exercise Bike

Weslo produces a variety of fitness products, including a line of exercise bicycles suitable for home use. The base unit comes already assembled, and consists of the pedal cranks, resistance system and an internal sensor designed to monitor the movement of the pedals. Final assembly consists of mounting the console unit and upright tube, which contains the controls for the resistance system, and attaching the pedals to the pedal cranks. Basic hand tools will prove sufficient for the assembly process.

Step 1

Fit the rear stabilizer into the bracket located on the rear of the bicycle's base. Use two sets of bolts, washers and nuts to secure the stabilizer to the bracket. Repeat with the front stabilizer and the bracket located on the front of the bicycle's base.

Step 2

Fit the threaded bolts attached to the underside of the seat into the holes mounted at the top of the seat post. Use bolts and washers to secure the seat to the seat post. Turn the seat knob to the left until it comes free. Slide the end of the seat post into the hole on the top of the bicycle's base. Reinstall the seat knob and tighten.

Step 3

Inspect the interior of the tube protruding from the front of the bicycle's base. Locate the wire harness and switch cable. Lift the upright tube and position the lower end over the base tube. Connect the wire harness dangling from the upright tube to the wire harness inside the base. Connect the reed switch cables in a similar manner.

Step 4

Use the metal cable bracket to connect the resistance cable inside the base to the cable inside the upright tube. Use a pair of pliers to press the ends of the bracket together, securing the cables together. Slide the end of the upright tube onto the base tube. Insert the end of the upright tube into the tube on the base. Use screws and washers to secure the upright tube to the base.

Step 5

Remove the battery cover from the console and install the appropriate number and type of batteries for your model. Reinstall the battery cover and connect the console wires to the wires protruding from the top of the upright tube. Secure the console to the upright tube with screws and washers.

Step 6

Bolt the handlebars to the bracket located on the upright tube or console, depending on your model of bicycle. Screw the pedals into the holes located at the ends of the pedal cranks.
