Difficult Skateboard Tricks

Difficult skateboarding tricks require an advanced sense of balance as well as a tall vertical leap. The most challenging skateboard tricks involve flipping and rotating the board in the air. Many experienced skateboarders practice tricks on flat ground to get comfortable with the necessary movements. Having the proper foot placement remains a vital part of the trick learning process.

360 Flip

The 360 flip remains a difficult yet stylish skateboarding maneuver. Align your back foot on the tail of the skateboard with your toes hanging off. Slide your lead foot toward the center of the skateboard with your toes pointed forward. Apply downward pressure with your back foot while jumping. Kick your front foot in a circular motion against the inside edge of the skateboard. Raise your shoes to allow the board to spin. After the board flips once and rotates 360 degrees, lower your feet.

360 Spin

Completing a full 360 degree rotation on flat ground can be a difficult task. Make sure your feet remain planted on the board while spinning the 360. Place your back foot on the outside corner of the tail. Align your front foot near the center of the board with your heel hanging off. Apply pressure with your back foot while jumping off the ground. Rotate your shoulders in a fluid motion to spin the 360 degree rotation.

Nollie Heelflip

The Nollie heelflip involves flipping the skateboard with the heel of your back foot. Position your lead foot on the inside corner the skateboard's nose. Align your back foot close to the center of the skateboard with your toes hanging off. Apply pressure to the nose of the skateboard with your front foot. Jump vertically while kicking the heel of your back foot against the edge of the skateboard. Allow the skateboard to flip once in the air before lowering your feet.

Nollie Kickflip

The Nollie kickflip remains a prominent trick for both street and ramp skaters. Place your front foot in the Nollie position at the front of the skateboard. Slide your back foot to the center of the skateboard with your heel hanging off the edge. Apply downward pressure to the nose of the skateboard while jumping vertically. Kick the toes of your back foot against the edge of the skateboard. Watch the board flip before lowering your feet and riding away.
