Cool sports games are designed to keep you physically active as well as entertained. While basic sports games such as soccer and basketball are popular with children and adults alike, there are specific variations of these games that are unique and easier to play with a smaller group of people.
Annie Annie Over
This basic sports game combines tag and baseball to improve your hand-eye coordination and foot speed. Divide a group of friends into two teams and place an obstacle between them, making sure it is tall enough not be able to see over it. Hand a ball to one team and have the group yell "Annie Annie Over" before tossing the ball over the obstacle. If the other team catches the ball, its members must run around one side of the obstacle and attempt to tag the other players, who try to run around to the other side. Anyone tagged before reaching the other side must join the other team. The team that finally tags all of the players wins the game.
Wiffle Ball
This Wiffle ball game will improve your throwing, catching and ability to hit a Wiffle ball. Divide your friends into two teams. The official Wiffle site recommends placing a marker on the field for every 20 feet. The first 20 feet is a single, the next 20 feet is a double and the final 20 feet indicates a home run. Have a pitcher stand between a home plate and the first 20 foot marker. Have the rest of the fielders stand wherever they want within the boundaries of the field. Just like baseball, each batter gets a series of balls thrown to him that he must hit. Three strikes and you're out and four balls and you draw a walk. Each team gets three outs per inning at bat. The team with the most runs after nine innings wins.
Dodgeball
This game is designed to test your agility as well as quickness. Divide a group of friends into two teams and draw a dividing line between them with chalk. Throw several dodge balls into the court and have the teams throw the balls at each other. If you are hit with a ball you must step out of the court. If a player on your team catches a ball, you can be brought back into the game and the player who threw the ball is out. The first team to remove all opponents from the game wins.
Four Square
This game will improve your hand-eye coordination as well as keep you entertained. Start by grabbing three friends and drawing out a four square court with a piece of chalk. The court should be a large square divided into four equal quadrants. Have each person stand in one of the squares. Start the game by having the player in one square bounce the ball and hit it into another square. If you are in the square that the ball is hit to, allow the ball to bounce once in your square before hitting it into another square. If you fail to hit the ball into another square or allow the ball to bounce twice in your square, you are out of the game.
