BSN N.O.-Xplode is a sports nutrition product intended to increase your energy and strength during workouts. This product contains stimulants such as caffeine that may improve your endurance as well as amino acids to promote muscle building. You should consult a doctor before using this or any other supplements and follow all label directions.
Calorie Content
BSN N.O.-Xplode contains 25 calories per serving. This is 20 fewer calories than you'd find in 1/2 cup of skim milk. Having a low calorie content means you may be able to use N.O.-Xplode even if you are dieting.
Stimulant Content
BSN N.O.-Xplode contains a number of ingredients that may increase your energy levels. Among them are caffeine and the amino acids tyrosine and taurine. Although this combination may help make you more alert, research from the November 2006 issue of "Amino Acids" found that combining caffeine and taurine can significantly increase your blood pressure.
Vitamin Content
N.O.-Xplode is not rich in many vitamins, but it does contain 2,000 percent of the daily recommended amount of vitamin B12 and 1,250 percent of the daily recommended intake of vitamin B6. Although deficiencies in B vitamins may cause weakness and fatigue, the National Institutes of Health explains that consuming extra vitamin B will not promote athletic benefits if you are not deficient in the nutrient.
Purported Benefits
According to BSN, N.O.-Xplode is intended to promote mental and physical energy, stamina, strength and focus. The product is also intended to dilate your blood vessels to promote enhanced oxygen delivery to your working muscles.
Available Flavors
BSN N.O.-Xplode is available in a number of different flavors: blue raspberry, fruit punch, grape, lemon lime, lemonade and orange.
