The Arlington Soccer Association is home to the ARL Venom team. This boys team is comprised of players from across the state of Virginia. ARL Venom is a traveling soccer team that has participated in and won tournaments across the country as well as state championships. ARL Venom players must be dedicated and talented soccer players.
Arlington Travel Soccer Club
ARL Venom plays under the Arlington Travel Soccer Club -- ATSC -- league. This league plays in Arlington, Virginia, which is located just outside of Washington DC. The ATSC is comprised of over 54 traveling soccer teams for both boys and girls. Teams are coached by professionals and play in high level soccer tournaments across the country.
Coaching Staff
The ARL Venom coaching consists of a head coach, assistant coach and a team manager. Coaches of ARL Venom are past soccer players or have extensive coaching experience in youth soccer. The team manager is organizes games, traveling and Venom try-outs.
Players
The ARL Venom team consists of 20 members each year. Players range in age from 15 to 17. The cut off date is having a birthday of July 31.
Awards
ARL Venom has won numerous different soccer awards. On a state level, the Venom were semi-finalists in 2008 and 2009. ARL Venom won the Virginia State Cup in 2010. In 2010, the Venom participated in numerous tournaments. They were the Bethesda Thanksgiving Tournament Champions. They have also won two Adidas Blue Chip Showcase Champions in 2010 and were semi-finalist in the Adidas Potomac Memorial Day Tournament. In 2009, ARL Venom won the OBGC Capital Cup. In 2008, they were the Arlington Spring Invitational Champions and semi-finalists in the Disney Soccer Showcase. The CASL Raleight Shootout and Arlington Spring Invitational gave the Venom two championship awards.
