Callaway Golf manufactures four versions of its X-series irons. The 2010 Callaway X-series irons are the clubmaker's seventh iteration of the successful series, and has made the name Callaway synonymous with quality irons, as well as drivers, which have traditionally been the company's trademark. Callaway also still offers its 2009 X-Forged irons, due to their quality tour performance.

X-24 Hot Irons

Callaway's X-24 Hot Irons are marketed as the longest, most accurate X-series iron ever. They are designed to produce longer shots through its "variable face thickness," a Callaway X-series technology that produces a 2.2 mph faster ball speed than previous X-series irons. This results in consistently longer shots. The large cavity on the X-24 irons distributes weight to both the heel and the toe, providing a more stable and accurate swing. The irons also feature a "physical vapor deposition," a dark color finish that minimizes glare and gives the clubs a distinctive look.

X-22 Irons

The X-22 irons are considered Callaway's top-of-the-line X-series irons. Known for their performance quality, the X-series irons have only been altered slightly, so as to not sacrifice the features that have given the club its reputation. The X-22 series closely resembles its predecessor, the X-20, having been modified only with the addition of perimeter weighting for more off-center strike forgiveness and a "Tru-Bore" design that reduces vibrations and improves feel. A polycarbonate plug hidden in the shaft's tip absorbs vibrations upon impact. The club's center of gravity remains unchanged and promotes optimal ball-flight.

X-22 Tour Irons

Based on the X-22 iron model, the X-22 Tour Irons are designed for the competitive golfer and aim to provide greater feel and stability. Callaway's "Precision Notch Weighting" technology allows for the club's center of gravity to be lower and more closely in line with the clubface's center. This results in better shot trajectories and club feel. A thin topline and progression of the sole's width allows the stainless steel clubhead to effectively cut through any turf.

Tour Authentic X Prototype Irons

Callaway's Tour Authentic X Prototype Irons are the forerunner to the entire X-series. They feature a traditional blade design drawn up by well-known clubmaker Roger Cleveland. The iron's back is supported with a "X-Muscle" design that, according to Callaway, delivers tour-level trajectory results. X Prototype Irons are made from soft carbon steel and promote accurate shots, while providing enhanced feedback and club control.
